Arrival-Pick up | Sigiriya

We pick you up at 6:30 and we leave for Dambulla driving through Kurunagala.Kurunagala is situated at a high altitude most of the city is plain land except the surrrounding rocks. We proceed to Sigiriya. Sigiriya (Lion’s rock) is an ancient rock fortress and palace ruin, We start and climbing the rock. After we complete the climb, you will be escorted to ride elephants. On our way back from Sigiriya, there would be a quick detour at Dambulla where you will get a chance to see one of the biggest vegetable markets in all of Sri Lanka. The tour leads us through the busy streets of Dambulla and then to the caves of Dambulla themselves. The caves themselves date back to the 1st Century B.C, where an exiled king made these natural caves his home and he later built a temple around it as a mark of respect. Being one of the most impressive cave temples in all of Asia, the Dambulla cave temples have undergone refurbishment over the years. Many an artist has serenaded the temples many curves and rock formations with beautiful patters and pieces of religious artwork that enhance the whole experience. After the visit, its back to the hotel for rest and relaxation.
